Chapter 9
Wedding Rehearsal
Dinner
There’s
been a distinct trend in recent years in having a rehearsal dinner
that is really a pivotal and spectacular event, second only to the
wedding itself.
It is a wonderful opportunity to
kick back a bit, relax and bond
with your family and close
friends.
Let’s face it, how many great
opportunities are there to have
both the bride’s and groom’s
families together with all of
both of your closest friends?
Only a few, usually births,
deaths and weddings.
It is tradition to include all
of these people: parents of both
the bride and groom, all
attendants with either their
spouse, date or parents (where
appropriate) and obviously both
the bride and the groom. |

Other
guests to consider are grandparents,
out-of-town guests and other close
friends and families as deemed
acceptable. If there are small children
in the party, they should leave early to
get their appropriate rest, parents will
typically initiate this per their normal
bed time.
However
everyone should be encouraged to get a
good nights sleep and not party too much
or too late so that they may look and
feel their best for your big day the
next day.
It is also
tradition throughout the night to make toasts and give thanks to the
wedding party and anyone else whose efforts contributed to the
wedding or work leading up to it.
Also, if you haven’t already, this
is the appropriate time to give your wedding party and attendants
their gifts of appreciation in celebration of all their hard work
and time.
